Construction of new A rated passive house. Timber frame construction with triple glazed windows, window sliding shutters, heat recovery system and underground heat exchange sumps. The dwelling was also fitted with the smart home capabilities. With an area of 4,000 sq/ft the construction also involved a number of technical detail to avoid cold bridging and to ensure an air tightness result below 1.0 m3/hr/m2 which is the level required to be declared a passive house in the Republic of Ireland. Works completed in 2010. |
